What an exciting time in Team Anna Marie

Wow!! Today was an awesome day to say the least!! Today, we were fortunate to be invited to set up a booth at Big Peach Running Company while they held a conference about training in the winter for running the ING Marathon. Thank you Karen for letting us set up a booth to let people know about TAM. We are also ironing out the details of having a much closer relationship with them, so we are going to make them our runners store of choice!!Community Links | Big Peach Running Co. While we were there, we were fortunate enough to meet the fine people of Christian Runners and they have decided about telling Anna's story in their future newsletter and getting involved in helping us to spread the word about Anna Marie. What a mighty fine running group and those serving an awesome God. I will update on what is going on with them in the near future.

I also had the opportunity to run the McDonough Jingle Jog 5K. It was a refreshing nice run and what an awesome time to represent the Team.

The Weather Channel Atlanta Half Marathon was a success

Well the Half was a success. We had 3 of us complete the Half. Kudos to Mike Bowen and Daniel Worthington for giving us 13.1 of your miles. What an awesome run, and even though I was sore for a couple of days, I am pumped and ready to run the ING in March.

Diana McFall and Mom, a big thank you for coming out and supporting us. You are both my family and please know that we think the world of you.

At the Runners Expo, we got to meet some awesome people that showed remarkable interest in Team Anna Marie. Steve Hite, President of Bay Six USA, an awesome runners shop in Raleigh, NC, was very interested and we hope to work with him soon, check out his website at www.baysixusa.com, he sells really awesome products and I plan to buy a 13.1 shirt from his soon. Also, we met Karen with Big Peach Running Company and hope to work with them soon, what an awesome runners shop as well, located in Atlanta, their website is bigpeachrunningco.com. Also, I had a store selling sunglasses donate a pair of sunglasses to me to run with as their donation, please let me know who you are so I can advertise you on this site!! The Atlanta Weather Channel Thanksgiving Day Half Marathon

So the day is upon us!! The Atlanta Weather Channel Thanksgiving Day Half Marathon is here. There are 3 TAM athletes running the Half. Mike Bowen, Daniel Worthington and Mark Dingess will be running the event and we are really pumped about it. While at the Runners Expo picking up my packet, I ran into some great people that were very inquisitive on what Team Anna Marie was. There was a lot of interest and a lot of people that were wanting to help in there own way. Thank you to all of you for expressing interest.

As we run this Half, Anna is sitting at Nationwide Childrens Hospital in Columbus, OH. She had another surgery today. Please pray for her as she is in a lot of pain. On top of all the present problems she is suffering from, it was told to us that she may be also suffering from Menengitis. So they started her on antibiotics this week.

Anna, I love you baby and this run is especially dedicated for you.

Root us on as we complete this event, in her time of suffering. After the Half, I will be headed up to Columbus, OH to be with my wife and daughter.

Thanks to the runners taking part in this event and a big shout out to the people that I met today at the runners expo.

Fun Run Saturday's

Team Anna Marie is going to start doing fun runs. This is just a time to get out and have fun running in the community with each other. The best part is its FREE!! One thing that I learned in the 15K is when you have someone running with you, it helps keep you motivated. My motivation in the 15K was certainly Anna Marie, but when it was time to really dig in and find that inner strength (around mile 7 for me), I ran with a guy who kept me motivated the rest of the way. We fed off each other and ran the rest of the way together. In the pictures of the PTC 15K, you can see him in the yellow shirt behind me (I took off sprinting towards the finish line). Now I am training for a half marathon and I want to turn motivation into promoting a healthy, fun lifestyle. So please consider joining me in the fun runs. We will be doing 5K's and 10K's. Next Event on the Calender - The Weather Channel Atlanta Thanksgiving Day Marathon and Half Marathon

The next major event on the calender for Team Anna Marie is the Weather Channel Atlanta Thanksgiving Day Marathon!! I will post the athletes running this event later because frankly I need a head count. Some exciting things have happened here lately and we have jumped from 8 athletes to about 20 athletes in a couple of days!! Thank you for your participation! Once I get things sorted out and names I will list all the athlete roster, and once I figure out who all is running the Thanksgiving Day Marathon I will post. Right now Mark Dingess, Daniel Worthington and Michael Bowen are running the Half Marathon.

If you would like to volunteer for this event to pass out fliers, sell stickers and shirts and raise awareness, we need you more than ever. There will be thousands of people at this event, so please consider helping.

We had a great time and I wanted to share with you some pictures from our race.

First Event was a success!!

Just wanted to let you know that Team Anna Marie finished its first event today. Myself and Keith Craddock ran the Peachtree City Classic 15K today. It was a very fun 9.3 mile run through Peachtree City. We represented Team Anna Marie well and had some great volunteers come and pass out fliers. It was a great time and I am looking forward to the Atlanta Thanksgiving Day Marathon in a month. We will be running it, the majority of us will do the Half Marathon (13.1 miles).

Once again, please keep in mind that we have shirts, the same as our athletes wear, for $15 and Team Anna Marie team stickers for just $2. Wear the shirt around or put the Team sticker on your car and show people who we are. If you want to see what the shirts or stickers look like, go to teamannamarie.blogspot.com. All the proceeds go to help Anna get treatment. This is also the opportunity for you to get involved in an athletic team from the ground up. We are really booming now with over 10 athletes doing running events and triathalons.

The Team Anna Marie Family would like to welcome our newest athlete, Daniel Worthington. Daniel will be participating in running. His goal is to run the Atlanta Thanksgiving Day Half Marathon. He was going to participate in the PTC 15K, but due to an injury was unable to. But he will be back in full force for the Half Marathon. Welcome Daniel, we are happy to have you on the team.

Saturday October 18th is the Peachtree City 15K

This Saturday, Oct 18th, two athletes of Team Anna Marie will be participating in the Peachtree City Classic 15K. Please come out and support the team. This is our first outing. Keith Craddock and Mark Dingess will be running this race starting at 8:30 am.

Just because the Car Show is over, doesn't mean we are out of T-Shirts. Team Anna Marie will constantly have T-Shirts. We are currently working to put up an online store and hope to have that soon. Also, if you would like, make a donation (there is a button on the left side of this page) and we will send you a shirt, but make sure you email me and tell me the donation was for the purchase of a T-Shirt. I will then contact you to verify your address and will ship it to you. The cost of the shirt is $15 plus $6 for shipping costs, if we have to ship it to you. Please understand that we have not marked these shirts up a lot and therefore can't include shipping costs in the price of a shirt because we're not making a lot of money off of them. Anna's Car Show was a smashing success. There were a few minor glitches here and there. Primarily with us getting the judges all there to start the judging, but I take responsibility for that. I apologize to the car show participants. I was getting pulled 30 different directions all day. I didn't even eat until about 9 that night. A big thank you to everyone that came out and helped to support Anna Marie. A big thank you to Vendetta Pizza Cafe for hosting the show. A big thank you to all the volunteers, from parking, manning the booths, musicians, judges and anyone else who was involved THANK YOU, we couldn't have done it without you. William and Mae (Spelling?) Thank you so much. JT, Thank you so much. All the sponsors, Thank you so much. All the people that showed up, Thank you so much and finally to Anna Marie, you are the greatest daughter in the world and I am so proud of you.

The Car Show is upon us

Remember, Anna Marie's Car Show is today at Vendetta Pizza Cafe at 1170 HWY 155 South McDonough. Directions are real simple, It is on the Griffin side of the interstate, past the Krystal and Bellamy Strickland Collission Center on the right. Please come out and show your support for Anna Marie. Even if you can't attend the car show, please consider eating there because we get a portion of the proceeds.

It will be a lot of fun with inflatable jumpers, silents auctions, raffles, food, live entertainment, cars (one is worth $750,000) and of course fun. You can pick up a shirt, while your there for only $15. We hope to see you there

Anna Marie's Car Show needs Volunteers this Sunday!!

This Sunday, at Vendetta's Pizza 1170 Hwy 155 South McDonough, GA 30253, is Vendetta's Fundraising Car Show for Anna Marie!! They have been planning it for a long time and we hope it will be a success. We aplogize it is on a Sunday, as many of you know, if the church doors are open then we are there, but this is the only day they could use the entire parking lot. The other stores in the strip mall are open Monday through Saturday and so the only day they can do it is Sunday. We need a minimum staff of about 24 volunteers. We need 4 for registration, 4 more traffic, 2 for inflatable toys watching, 6 judges for the cars (you must be at least semi experienced with cars), 3 for security, and 4 to sell raffle tickets. Now this is the bare minimum, so the more, the merrier. The car show is open to the public from 12pm-6pm. We need all volunteers there by 10:30 am, due to the fact that cars will start coming in and registering starting at 11 am and we need to have a group meeting at about 10:35 am to get people on the same sheet of paper. More Team Anna Marie Athletes

We would like to welcome 2 more new athletes to Team Anna Marie.

Michael Bowen is coming to the team to run. He will be participating in some running events including the Thanksgiving Day Half Marathon in Atlanta on Thanksgiving Day. Michael also has experiences putting together runs and has put together 5K's in his hometown of Charlotte, NC. So he has offered to help spearhead a local run. More details to follow on this fun upcoming run to benefit Anna Marie.

Nick Spletstoser is coming on to participate as our very first triathalon athlete. In Jun 09, he will be participating in the Lake Lanier Triathalon and potentially another one in the same month.

Thank you to our athletes, we now have 4 members of Team Anna Marie. We have 3 runners and 1 doing a triathalon. If your interested in participating as an athlete, volunteer to pass out fliers at events, a fan, or in some other capacity then we would love to have you. This is your chance to become a Fan from the Ground Floor

Welcome to the new launch of Team Anna Marie. Our mission is simple and that is "To raise awareness of Anna Marie Dingess and Pseudotumor Cerebri through athletics". Inspired by Team Hoyt, our goal is to compete in any athletic event that we have athletes for to help and raise awareness and solicit donations for Anna Marie's treatment. Become a volunteer today! We need people to "beat the streets" in a figurative way and let people know about Team Anna Marie. We need athletes to help spread the word, by wearing team shirts and becoming a member of the team. If you know of an athlete who may be interested, please let me know. We need people to go to these same events that our athletes are participating in and spread fliers, talk to people about Anna Marie and Pseudotumor, and solicit donation. We need a real website, potentially for free (because we are broke). We need money to make team shirts for our athletes. It is our hope to get merchandise to sell, if that is where your talents are speak up. We also need corporate sponsorship, to help pay these associated costs.
