What an exciting time in Team Anna Marie

Wow!! Today was an awesome day to say the least!! Today, we were fortunate to be invited to set up a booth at Big Peach Running Company while they held a conference about training in the winter for running the ING Marathon. Thank you Karen for letting us set up a booth to let people know about TAM. We are also ironing out the details of having a much closer relationship with them, so we are going to make them our runners store of choice!!Community Links | Big Peach Running Co. While we were there, we were fortunate enough to meet the fine people of Christian Runners and they have decided about telling Anna's story in their future newsletter and getting involved in helping us to spread the word about Anna Marie. What a mighty fine running group and those serving an awesome God. I will update on what is going on with them in the near future.

I also had the opportunity to run the McDonough Jingle Jog 5K. It was a refreshing nice run and what an awesome time to represent the Team.

The Weather Channel Atlanta Half Marathon was a success

Well the Half was a success. We had 3 of us complete the Half. Kudos to Mike Bowen and Daniel Worthington for giving us 13.1 of your miles. What an awesome run, and even though I was sore for a couple of days, I am pumped and ready to run the ING in March.

Diana McFall and Mom, a big thank you for coming out and supporting us. You are both my family and please know that we think the world of you.

At the Runners Expo, we got to meet some awesome people that showed remarkable interest in Team Anna Marie. Steve Hite, President of Bay Six USA, an awesome runners shop in Raleigh, NC, was very interested and we hope to work with him soon, check out his website at www.baysixusa.com, he sells really awesome products and I plan to buy a 13.1 shirt from his soon. Also, we met Karen with Big Peach Running Company and hope to work with them soon, what an awesome runners shop as well, located in Atlanta, their website is bigpeachrunningco.com. Also, I had a store selling sunglasses donate a pair of sunglasses to me to run with as their donation, please let me know who you are so I can advertise you on this site!! The Atlanta Weather Channel Thanksgiving Day Half Marathon

So the day is upon us!! The Atlanta Weather Channel Thanksgiving Day Half Marathon is here. There are 3 TAM athletes running the Half. Mike Bowen, Daniel Worthington and Mark Dingess will be running the event and we are really pumped about it. While at the Runners Expo picking up my packet, I ran into some great people that were very inquisitive on what Team Anna Marie was. There was a lot of interest and a lot of people that were wanting to help in there own way. Thank you to all of you for expressing interest.

As we run this Half, Anna is sitting at Nationwide Childrens Hospital in Columbus, OH. She had another surgery today. Please pray for her as she is in a lot of pain. On top of all the present problems she is suffering from, it was told to us that she may be also suffering from Menengitis. So they started her on antibiotics this week.

Anna, I love you baby and this run is especially dedicated for you.

Root us on as we complete this event, in her time of suffering. After the Half, I will be headed up to Columbus, OH to be with my wife and daughter.

Thanks to the runners taking part in this event and a big shout out to the people that I met today at the runners expo.

Fun Run Saturday's

Team Anna Marie is going to start doing fun runs. This is just a time to get out and have fun running in the community with each other. The best part is its FREE!! One thing that I learned in the 15K is when you have someone running with you, it helps keep you motivated. My motivation in the 15K was certainly Anna Marie, but when it was time to really dig in and find that inner strength (around mile 7 for me), I ran with a guy who kept me motivated the rest of the way. We fed off each other and ran the rest of the way together. In the pictures of the PTC 15K, you can see him in the yellow shirt behind me (I took off sprinting towards the finish line). Now I am training for a half marathon and I want to turn motivation into promoting a healthy, fun lifestyle. So please consider joining me in the fun runs. We will be doing 5K's and 10K's. Next Event on the Calender - The Weather Channel Atlanta Thanksgiving Day Marathon and Half Marathon

The next major event on the calender for Team Anna Marie is the Weather Channel Atlanta Thanksgiving Day Marathon!! I will post the athletes running this event later because frankly I need a head count. Some exciting things have happened here lately and we have jumped from 8 athletes to about 20 athletes in a couple of days!! Thank you for your participation! Once I get things sorted out and names I will list all the athlete roster, and once I figure out who all is running the Thanksgiving Day Marathon I will post. Right now Mark Dingess, Daniel Worthington and Michael Bowen are running the Half Marathon.

If you would like to volunteer for this event to pass out fliers, sell stickers and shirts and raise awareness, we need you more than ever. There will be thousands of people at this event, so please consider helping.

Pictures from the PTC 15K

We had a great time and I wanted to share with you some pictures from our race.

First Event was a success!!

Just wanted to let you know that Team Anna Marie finished its first event today. Myself and Keith Craddock ran the Peachtree City Classic 15K today. It was a very fun 9.3 mile run through Peachtree City. We represented Team Anna Marie well and had some great volunteers come and pass out fliers. It was a great time and I am looking forward to the Atlanta Thanksgiving Day Marathon in a month. We will be running it, the majority of us will do the Half Marathon (13.1 miles).

Once again, please keep in mind that we have shirts, the same as our athletes wear, for $15 and Team Anna Marie team stickers for just $2. Wear the shirt around or put the Team sticker on your car and show people who we are. If you want to see what the shirts or stickers look like, go to teamannamarie.blogspot.com. All the proceeds go to help Anna get treatment. This is also the opportunity for you to get involved in an athletic team from the ground up. We are really booming now with over 10 athletes doing running events and triathalons.

Volunteers needed for PTC 15K.

If you are available to come to Peachtree City on Saturday morning from about 7:30am-11:30am, then we could really use you. Mark Dingess and Keith Craddock will be running it. We need to get the word out about Team Anna Marie and need people passing out fliers and selling stickers and T-shirts. So if you think you can help, we really really need you!!
